Description
Nitobond EP is based on solvent-free epoxy resins containing pigments and fine fillers. It is supplied as a two-component material in pre-weighed quantities ready for on-site mixing and use. The ‘base’ component is white and the ‘hardener’ component is black, providing visual evidence (uniform grey colour) that adequate mixing has been achieved.


Design criteria

Application InstructionsSurface preparationClean the area of concrete so that cracks are identifi able.It is recommended to use packers especially when injectingagainst running water. Other techniques may be used, but areapplication specifi c.Drill holes to suit the specifi c dimensions of the packers andshould be spaced between 150 to 500mm intervals dependingupon the crack width, depth and pressure of water. Angleshould be at approximately 45° and bisect the crack in thecentre of the concrete where possible. If rebar is struck, stopdrilling and move drilling point to adjacent area.Where possible stagger the injection points either side of thecrack.Insert packers and ensure they are tight to the concrete. Ifnecessary they may be sealed with Nitomortar PE or RenderocPlug as well.

Calculate total amount of cement/binder present in fresh concrete transported through transit mixer. Calculate total quantity of CWA 10 required as recommended in TDS (0.8 to 1% by wt of cement or total binder). Make slurry of CHRYSO CWA 10 with water in the ratio of approximately 2:1 by weight (i.e., 2part CHRYSO CWA10 and 1 part potable water) plant and operation

Uses - For making of polymer modifi ed mortar and screeds , bonding agent, repair of worn, damaged and spalled concrete, slurry coat as base for waterproofing.    Description- Nitobond SBR 300 is modifi ed styrene butadiene emulsion specially designed for use as a bonding aid and gauging liquid for cementitious systems. It is resistant to hydrolysis and can therefore be used for external applications too.   Priming- Reinforcing steel must be primed with Nitozinc Primer immediately after cleaning. The concrete substrate should be thoroughly dampened with water and any excess water removed before being primed by thoroughly scrubbing in a slurry coat of 1 volume Nitbond SBR Latex to 1 volume water to 3 volumes fresh cement. In order to obtain a smooth consistency the cement should be blended slowly into the liquids. Stir frequently during use to off set settlement. Avoid ‘puddling’ of the slurry coat. The topping must be applied on to the wet slurry. If the slurry dries out it must be removed and the clean substrate reprimed.   Typical Mix designs : 1. Patching and repair mortars and plaster for masonary Cement 50 kg Zone II sand 150 kg Nitobond SBR 300 5 - 9 litres Recommended water addition 11 - 15 litres Recommended thickness 8 to 20mm 2. Screeding Cement 50 kg 3-6mm Granite chips 75 kg Zone II sand 75 kg Nitobond SBR 300 5-9 litres Recommended water addition 8-12 litres Recommended thickness 10-25mm The screed should be of a semi-dry cohesive consistency. 3. Polymer modified cement grout for injection - Nitobond SBR 300 can be used to eff ectively modify properties of cement grout for crack injection.
